Topic 4 – Free Inquiry Blog Post

My Free Inquiry Topic is reading James Joyce’s Ulysses. I chose this topic because I love Modernist writers and might not read this challenging work without the added incentive of academic requirement. My goal is to complete the novel–a task that is easier said than done. I will use a variety of resources, including Don Gifford’s Ulysses Annotated, lectures on Youtube, and articles. My inquiry posts will document my progress as well as collect my thoughts on individual sections.

To prepare I have either reviewed or re-read Homer’s The Odyssey, and Shakespeare’s Hamlet, The Tempest, and Troilus and Cressida.
